The salicylic acid cleanser is the first thing you use in the SLMD Acne System Kit. It's meant to get rid of dirt and oil without stripping your skin of its natural moisture. Benzoyl peroxide lotion or retinol serum can be used after you clean your face in the SLMD Acne System Kit. The benzoyl peroxide lotion is best for people who wake up with acne (used at night).
